Research Register for Social Care - toolkit

Following the pilot phase of this project it has been decided to put developments of the toolkit on hold. This means that existing installations of the toolkit will no longer work with the updated Research Register. Revised spreadsheet and XML templates will be available shortly for use with the bulk updating facility - see below for more information on this.

Bulk updating

You can use the bulk updating facility to create, update or delete records on the Research Register. To use the update or delete records function each record must have been assigned a unique Local ID. If you have records on the Research Register which do not have a Local ID, these can be added using the Edit items form. The bulk upload is available on the left menu when you are logged in.

Spreadsheet template

You can either type data directly into the spreadsheet or use it as a template for exporting data from an existing database. Once spreadsheet template is populated, you can save it as a .csv file and upload it to the Research Register. If your records have a unique Local ID you can update or delete entries in the template and then use the bulk upload to make these changes to your records on the Research Register website.

XML template

The XML template is intended as an example for users who want to export data from an existing database in this format for bulk uploading.
